Bluffton Motor Works has an immediate career opportunity for a progressive, forward thinking, analytical, disciplined, and organized Plant Manager in Bluffton, IN. This position is suited to the Manager who thrives in a fast paced environment and who thrives on challenges using their expertise and industry best practices to meet and exceed plant production goals.
The Plant Manager leads the departments of Production and Manufacturing Engineering, drives for year over year performance improvements and supports BLMW Mission and Values.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
-Direct and manage plant operations for production
-Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers and/or supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
-Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures and manpower
-Work with Human Resources to ensure that all manpower needs are met
-Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production
-Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
-Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
-Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors
-Ensure that all safety procedures are followed on the plant floor
-Act as a change agent and support teams in all continuous improvement activities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 10 years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
-Exposure with managing a union environment
-Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
-Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required, such as Six Sigma: Statistics and data analysis; Lean Manufacturing; and ISO-90001 and Quality Systems.

Working Conditions
Significant amount of work will be conducted in the manufacturing areas, may be exposed to dust, noise and heat. Job requires moving, walking, bending, or standing for extended periods of time. Office time will be required for the completion of weekly reports.
